The Independent National Election Commission, INEC, has denied handing over original result sheets of the upcoming legislative rerun election in Rivers state to Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi.
Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike, made the claim earlier.
INEC Chairman spokesman, Rotimi Oyekanmi in a statement on Thursday, said Wike’s allegations are “baseless” and “untrue.”
“The Commission also wishes to assure Nigerians that it will continue to discharge its duties according to the rules governing its mandate, without fear or favour and with a very high sense of responsibility.”
