Nigerian singer, Orezi's hit single, 'Shoki' might have won him more fans but it was this same song that proved to be his albatross when he was forced to leave the Redeemer's University for attempting to play the song within the walls of the institution.
We gathered that the entire episode began when Orezi was invited by the Redeemer's University Student's Association for the 2014 fresher's event tagged 'The Debut Night.'
Everything sailed on smoothly until the singer was on the verge of playing his hit song, 'Shoki.'
It was at this point that the Chaplain allegedly threatened to expel the DJ (who incidentally was a student of the institution) if he made any attempt to play the song.
As expected, the student protested but the singer made his exit.
Confirming the incident, Orezi took to his Twitter account and wrote:
"Off to Lagos! Last night still funny though, Redeemers’ University authorities, na wa oo. We were about to start having fun and they just dulled us.”
