A suicide bomber suspected to be Boko Haram member blew himself up near a mosque in Sulimanti ward of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, today.
Vanguard reports that two suicide bombers stormed the area, but one fled without detonating his IED. A local, Mallam Ali Aji who also was in the mosque when the explosion happened, said: “immediately after the blast, worshippers had to desert the mosque for dear lives, before men of the Civilian JTF and military arrived the scene and cordon off the whole area, as I am speaking to you now, the charred body of the suicide bomber is scattered all over the place”.
The Civilian JTF and volunteers are currently searching the whole area for the fleeing suicide bomber.
