Team Nigeria eventually won a bronze medal — the country’s first in two consecutive Olympics — at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Saturday after the national U-23 team defeated hard-fighting Honduras 3-2 at the Mineiro Stadium in Belo Horizonte in the third-place match of the men’s football event. Four years ago at London 2012, Nigeria returned home without a single medal.
