A mortuary attendant at the University College Hospital, (UCH) Ibadan has been remanded in prison for stealing the head of a corpse and trying to make away with it.
57-year-old Muritala Raimi allegedly decapitated an unidentified dead man and concealed it in a bag. But while attempting to leave the premises, he was caught with the head.
He tried to run away from the scene but was prevented from escaping by policemen in the hospital who arrested him and took him to Yemetu police station.
He pleaded not guilty when arraigned in court and was granted a N200,000 bail. Since he wasn't able to pay up, he was remanded in prison.
