The chemical weapons inspectors for the UN have returned to Syria to conclude their investigations into the alleged use of banned weapons during the country’s civil war.

This was disclosed on Wednesday in Damascus and reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The UN team of six officials led by Ake Sellstrom (a Swedish expert) will investigate the three available instances of alleged chemical weapon use.

One of such instances was in March in Khan al-Assal in the northern Aleppo province.

The inspectors have already determined that chemical weapons were indeed used on August 21, in an attack near Damascus that resulted in the death of hundreds of people.
