Sokoto state Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko on Wednesday said that he had earlier intended to go back to the village at the end of his tenure rather than vie for the senatorial election in 2015.
THIS DAY reports that Wammako made the disclosure when a coalition of 73 youth organisations in the state presented him with a nomination form to contest for the seat for Sokoto Central senatorial district at the Government House, Sokoto.
"The truth of the matter is that, my plan was not to be a Senator but to go back to my village to rest after spending eight years in office. But as a leader with listening ear and servant of the people, I have no option than to accept the incessant demands made "
"No matter the assignment given to me, I assure you that I will not let you down. I will do my best to provide genuine representation, if given the mandate come 2015".
