Former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babaginda has said that the lingering security and economic challenges have become the order worldwide and not limited to Nigeria.
In a New Year messages to Nigerians yesterday, IBB said every country of the world was experiencing some magnitude of security and economic challenges, and urged Nigerians to strive collectively to overcome the current challenges.
Babangida said challenges were part of life which every Nigerian must always prepare to confront rather than fearing it, expressing optimism that the country’s future was very bright.
“We are without doubt people with a great past but not without challenges and for the future we will be greater yet with challenges but we have paid our dues for Nigeria, to the extent that we are hopeful that the challenges of the future will not be greater than what we faced in the past,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to take the inspiration offered by this New Year to build a nation of their dream devoid of divisive tendencies and offer government at all levels the much needed support to steer the ship of the state.”
