The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Zamfara Chapter crisis took a new dimension following the resolve of the State Executive Committee (SEC) to suspend the chairman of the party in the state, Senator Hassan Nasiha.

According to Dailytrust, the executive body also dismissed the claim made by Nasiha, claiming those that mattered in the party still recognized him as the leader.

Nasiha had told Daily Trust last week, shortly after a meeting, that 10 out of 14 local council chairmen and 21 out of 28 state executive members have endorsed his leadership.

But the SEC, led by zonal vice chairman of the party, Alhaji ibrahim Maikano Kaura, dismissed Nasiha’s claim, saying he remained suspended for, at least, two months.

He said the executives have passed a vote of no confidence on Nasiha’s leadership and proposed Alhaji Kado Yahaya Gusau to steer the affairs of the party, pending the expiration of the suspension period of Nasiha.
