The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to Peter Obi's call for President Bola Tinubu to reintroduce himself to Nigerians in light of the recent controversy surrounding his academic records. The APC labeled Obi's comments as an attempt to seek "cheap media attention" and reiterated that President Tinubu does not need a reintroduction.
In a statement, the APC spokesperson, Felix Morka, pointed out that the 8.9 million Nigerians who voted for President Tinubu in the last election were fully aware of his outstanding record and accomplishments. They stated that Tinubu is recognized as a thoroughbred professional and former auditor and treasurer of Mobil Nigeria, which is now ExxonMobil.
The statement emphasized that Nigerians voted for President Tinubu lawfully and that the controversy over his academic records is a contrived issue driven by political opponents. The APC accused Obi of jumping on the bandwagon to join in a campaign against President Tinubu, which the Labor Party had already dissociated itself from.
Obi had previously called on President Tinubu to address the controversy surrounding his academic records to avoid further embarrassment.
