The African Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $1 million (about N160 million) emergency grant to help Nigeria fight the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), which has so far claimed seven lives in the country and over 2,300 in three other West African countries.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy (CME) and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the ADB Country Director, Dr. Ousmane Dore, signed the document for the grant at a ceremony in Abuja yesterday.
In her remarks, the CME said the event was about partnership of countries and institutions to support Nigeria's successful efforts to contain Ebola.
