Chelsea's quest to extend their lead at the top of the English Premier League table was dealt a blow after they were held to a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns on Tuesday night.
Nigerian international Victor Anichebe once again came off the bench to earn his team an equaliser that secured the point, like he did in the game against Liverpool.
Coming at the back of a good run of form that has seen Chelsea not lose in their last ten matches, they were sure bets to beat West Brom especially as the table toppers are the league's in form team.
Chelsea dominated for the greater part of the match but failed to translate their chances into goals.
Defender Branislav Ivanovic once again stepped up with a goal for Jose Mourinho's team, and from a corner kick the Serb found the bottom corner of the post just before the interval, shooting from close range inside the box after a David Luiz assist.
It looked as Chelsea's ominous sign for a straightforward victory.
The Blues dominated even after the break, however they allowed the opportunities slip by.
However, they were made to pay in the 87th minute through Nigerian international Victor Anichebe.
Saido Berahino from a cross found Anichebe who in turn did justice to it,heading from the centre of the box to beat Petr Cech and equalise.
The draw no doubt still keeps Chelsea on top of the League, but they could lose top spot on Wednesday if Manchester City and Arsenal win their home games against Sunderland and Manchester United respectively.
