Feyo Sodupo, former Miss Nigeria was almost kidnapped recently if not for the work of the policemen attached to the governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, in Abeokuta who botched the kidnapping attempt by three men posing as security operatives. They claimed to be working for the organisers of the Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant.
The kidnappers had allegedly taken the former Miss Nigeria in their Honda shuttle car from Lagos to Abeokuta to retrieve her car gift where she had parked it, a Hyundai. When they attempted to retrieve the Hyundai, the mother of the beauty queen raised an alarm.
The suspects failed to prove their evidence of identification when the officers attached to the governor’s office intervened. They were arrested and taken to the Ibara Police Divisional headquarters in Abeokuta, under the instructions of the governor.
Narrating her ordeal, Feyi said, “Organisers of the programme made many promises that they didn’t keep and now they want to collect the car given to me by the Akwa Ibom State Government”. According to her, there was no part in the contract signed that made it necessary for her to return the gift, especially since it was registered in her name.
