Sports Australian Open: Novak Djokovic beats Stanislas Wawrinka to make final

World number one Novak Djokovic will meet Andy Murray in the final of the Australian Open tournament after overcoming the defending champion, Stanislas Wawrinka.

In a pulsating match that stretched into five sets, it was the Serb who emerged victorious in a 7-6 (7-1) 3-6 6-4 4-6 6-0 win.

Both Wawrinka and Djokovic gave the match their all, equally taking the first four sets, but it was Djokovic who lasted the long haul to win the deciding fifth set after his Swiss counterpart lost steam.

Djokovic with the victory joins Stefan Edberg and Roger Federer on all-time list of most Australian Open final appearances.

He will now be coming up against his boyhood friend, Murray whom he started playing against as early as when they were 12.
