Nigeria's ex Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse has been kidnapped by gunmen in Kaduna state.
According to reports, he was abducted on his way back from a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Alhaji Mamman Daura at his Inuwa road residence in Kaduna Metropolis.
He was with a friend and had gone to pay condolence visit to the family of the late Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Dasuki on kabiru road, few meters away from Inuwa Wada road and was said to stop over at the house of Daura who was at home receiving guests and other family members.
Getting out of his car and exchanging pleasantries with some guests who were standing in front of the house, three men inside an ash coloured Toyota Corolla car stopped, jumped down from the car and whisked the former minister away almost immediately.
The police say a team of detectives have been deployed across the state to ensure his safe and unconditional release.
