The Nigerian Muslim community has lost one of its most prominent leaders as AbdulAzeez Arisekola Alao, the deputy head of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, is dead.
His eldest daughter, Khadija, confirmed his death to the News Agency of Nigeria.
Mr. Arisekola Alao, an Ibadan-based Islamic leader, is noted for his philanthropy towards Islamic causes.
He was the Deputy President General of the NSCIA, and the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland until his death.
