Former Minister of Education, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili has rated President Muhammadu Buhari's speech as a terrible case of missed opportunity, from the citizen's point of view.

President Muhammadu Buhari's speech on Monday morning touched basically on issues of terrorism and hate speeches among ethnic lines in the country.

The President also used the medium to thanked Nigerians for their prayers during his ordeals on the sickbed.

But Madam Oby, in a tweet after the broadcast described the President's speech as a terrible missed opportunity.

President Muhammadu Buhari returned to the country on Saturday after more than 100 days in United Kingdom for treatment and Nigerians are expecting the Number one citizens to address issues in all ramification of the society - economy, politics and social affairs of Nigerians.

When we fail to recognise the truth. Buhari is not a well man. We still need to ask real questions about his health and plans. He has just dismissed/disrespected Nigerians with a 3 minute speech after 100 days away.

Its an unfinished speech with question marks and its so unfortunate that the president after so many days didn't deem it fit to address the Nation properly as he oughts to do rather he decides to push prioritized issues asides. I see the speech as least expected from a Local government chairman not to talk of a president who has been away for over 100 days.

Nigerians: Buhari must resume or resign (Buhari resumes)
Same Nigerians: Why did he even stay so long in London???

Nigerians: Buhari must address us (Buhari does so)
Same Nigerians: Why was the address so short? Why can't he talk longer?

Moral: You can never satisfy Nigerians :(

Typical Nigerians. or you info, Buhari rules till 2023. Deal with it :D

One thing is clear this govt. has no specific plan for governance...more about reactions
To think that the #PresidentialBroadcast was pre-recorded, is, in itself, disappointing; let alone the even more disappointing speech. I never expected anything from the speech nor this govt so they are living up to my expctation. The Speech is a 0.5 on a scale of 10

Buhari did not address Nigerians sir. If this is what we expect, then we are going nowhere fast. No citizen of any country should ever be satisfied, that is how you go backwards and your leaders take advantage. They should always be questioned. Just take a good look at the media in developed countries, they do not spend their time high-fiving their government/leaders.

What were you expecting. Buhari is still recuperating, so don't expect much. He will be returning soon however to continue his treatment :D
