If there was any man who knows how to beat Arsene Wenger,it is Jose Mourinho and what a way to do it by spoiling his 1000th games party.
In a week that the red carpets were rolled out at the Emirates to celebrate the achievements of Wenger since joining the club in 1996,his big adversary,Mourinho came to once again burst his bubble.
Just like they did against Liverpool,Arsenal started the game going two goals behind in the first ten minutes of the match.
Olivier Giroud had a magnificent opportunity of putting his side in front but he didn't get much power to his shot as Petr Cech got his hand to the ball to divert out from goal.
Almost immediately at the other end of the pitch in a quick counter,Chelsea showed Giroud how to take your chance. Andre Schurrle looked up and saw Samuel Eto'o in space, playing in the Cameroonian who drifted the ball to his left leg away from the recovering Kieran Gibbs, then expertly curled the ball into the net for the first goal of the game.
Chelsea broke play a minutes later and quickly countered, this time Schurrle had a run on goal and his shot sailed unimpeded into the bottom corner for the second goal.
The early start by the Blues destabilised Arsenal who couldn't get their rhythm right as they were completely open to be run at in the middle of the park. Sadly for Chelsea they lost Eto'o to what looked like a hamstring injury, with Fernando Torres entering the fray.
Torres made an incursion into the box, dribbled a defender and laid a pass to Eden Hazard, but the resultant shot from the Belgian was blocked off the lines by Alex Oxlade Chamberlain with his hand.
And in case of mistaken identity, the referee Andre Marinner sent off the wrong player,Kieran Gibbs, despite Chamberlain appearing to be telling the referee that he was the one who committed the offence.
Hazard belted the penalty kick down the middle, taking the scores to 3-0 and sending his side on the path to a complete thumping of their opposition.
There was still time for Chelsea to bag a fourth goal before the break,Torres down the right squared a pass into the box which Oscar did well to latch on to for the goal.
It was a disastrous game by the Gunners and Wenger made two changes coming into the second half. However, not even the introduction of Mathieu Flamini and Carl Jerkinson could remedy Arsenal's plight.
The closest they came to finding the net was through Santi Cazorla whose effort just sailed out wide.
Oscar made it five, finding space at the edge of the box to force a shot but Szczesny couldn't do enough to properly parry the ball, with the Brazilian bagging his second goal of the match.
Substitute Mohammed Salah completed the rout for Chelsea, keeping himself onside and controlling the ball as he coolly finished off the move, putting the ball under Szczesny to make it six.
Chelsea with the win, consolidated on their top position and most importantly boosted their goals difference on the log.
Arsenal have now conceded a staggering seventeen goals against Chelsea,Manchester City and Liverpool, scoring only four against them this season.
Not the kind of performance that Wenger would have wanted to commemorate his 1000 games in charge of Arsenal, failing once again to beat Mourinho whom he has never defeated before.
Wenger now appears to be lurking in the shadows of his great rival,Mourinho.
