Politics Chibok Girls:Shagari, Other Ex-Presidents Promise to Help Find Lasting Solution to Security Problems

Former Nigerian presidents have pledged to assist the Borno state government in the rescue of the abducted Chibok school girls by Boko Haram insurgents, saying the rescue of the girls is the responsibility of all Nigerians.

At a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the state house, second republic President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari and others also pledged to assist the federal government in finding a lasting solution to the security challenges facing the country.

Present at the meeting were Alhaji Shehu Shagari, Chief Ernest Shonekan,Generals Yakubu Gowon, Mohammed Buhari and Abdulsalami Abubakar, Daily Times reported.

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state and the national security adviser and Sambo Dasuki were also at the meeting.
