Award wining Nigerian author, Chimamanda Adiche, Former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Attahiru Jega and other prominent Nigerians have been elected into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Other Nigerians elected into the revered Academy include: Akin Mabogunje from the University of Ibadan. He was elected into the History section in the Academy. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) was elected into the Business, Corporate and Philanthropic leadership section of the Academy. Jega was elected into the Public Affairs and Public Policy section of the Academy.
The new class will be inducted at a ceremony on October 7, 2017, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
