Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Tukur Buratai, has stated that the recent retiring of 38 top officials of the Nigerian army is timely.

"There is no better time than now because everything has been taken into consideration and procedures have been followed to ensure that we don’t pick the innocent ones. You can see it started with the enquiries first of all, legal review and after the legal review, we forwarded the report and recommendations to the authority for consideration," he said.

“So it takes time, it is just like a court process, so we follow our own process, our administrative process and legal review as well. It is the right time and no any other time than now,”

He made the clarification while speaking with newsmen during a courtesy call on the Minister of Communications, Mr Adebayo Shittu, in Abuja.

This statement is not true sir, Mr. COAS, most of them compulsorily retired were not summoned to any court marshal, board of enquiry, charged, summarily or tried!
If your claim is true, how do you explain that of Maj. Gen. T. C. Ude, presently serving as your STF Commander OP Safe Haven in Jos whom you appointed? Did he appear before any disciplinary committee or panel, has he been found culpable once; was he not marginalized like you by Gen. Minimah in DHQ before your appointment outside the country?
Why would you give such a sensitive appointment to a man you don't trust and feel was loyal to the former regime and compromised during the elections? Have the fear of God and say the truth sir!
