Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State on Wednesday bought the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form for the governorship election scheduled for June 21.
Fayemi collected the form from the APC Secretariat in Abuja. After obtaining the form for N5 million, Fayemi said his decision to seek re-election was a response to several calls by the people of the state.
He said the vote of confidence given to his administration by the people of Ekiti was a resounding victory for the APC.
"Today is a landmark towards our journey for collective consolidation and building our state and recognition of APC’s commitment to due process with a view to satisfying the aspirations of the people.
According to him, since the merger of opposition political parties into APC, it is enjoying overwhelming support from people from all walks of life.
"We have absolutely no doubt in our mind that come 2015 presidential election, the victory is ours if the people have the power.’
He, however, urged the people of the state to be very vigilant in the days ahead to ensure victory for APC in the forthcoming election.
