National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adamu Mu’azu, yesterday said that the party would not have fielded Ayodele Fayose as its governorship candidate in the Ekiti elections if it had considered the Nigerian factor.
Fayose won last Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti state, defeating incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress APC.
Speaking when leadership of the party came to the Presidential Villa to officially report the outcome of the election to President Goodluck Jonathan and also celebrate the party’s victory in the election, Mua’zu said: “Fayose, ordinarily if the Nigerian factor comes in will never have been our candidate but you and I know that even after he emerged, the sort of groups that come to you to report me that I have done the wrong choice.
