Not less than 20 people have died in flooding after heavy rains in Suleja and Tafa council areas of Niger state.
Daily Trust reported 11 deaths on Sunday. Nine people died in Checheniya, one at Kuspa area of same town while one other died at Ayin-Nassarrawa in Tafa local government area of the state and another in the same local government area.
However, the number has risen to 20 on Monday morning.
The State Emergency Management Agency officials have so far recovered eight bodies, and continue searching for more.
Rescue mission is ongoing in affected areas.
