Nigeria - Former Military Administrator of Kogi State, Col. Bzigu Afakirya (rtd) is dead, aged 66.
According to The Nation, he died Monday at an Abuja hospital after a brief illness.
The late Afakirya, who was Military Administrator of Kogi State from August 1996 to August 1998, was born in Lassa, Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Governor of Kogi State Capt. Idris Wada has commiserated with the immediate family of the former colonel, describing his death as a loss to the entire country.
