The rains have been poring down in torrents of recent and a lot of cars have been damaged as a result. These few tips will help avoid damages to your cars during these period.
1. Always monitor the weather forecast for chance of isolated thunderstorms, low-pressure areas and typhoons. Doing so will give you the lead time you need in preparation for your course of action.
2. Familiarize yourself with the routes you often take so that you woul dbe able to anticipate flooding in those areas.
3. If you are already out driving in heavy rain and suddenly get stuck in floodwater, immediately stop and remove battery terminals so as to prevent electronic short
4. Most vehicles nowadays are designed to have their integrated circuitry and modules located under the carpet and alongside the front interior and engine bay. Try your best to keep these areas dry and free from inundation, it will make all the difference.
5. Always keep a tool box in your car containing at least open wrench, series cable, pliers etc. These will help you a lot in times of need.
6. Save all important hotline numbers (favorite radio station, tow truck) for information so you can always be informed and get help when in trouble.
