Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State on Friday in Yola has absolved President Goodluck Jonathan of involvement in the plans by the State House of Assembly to impeach him and his deputy, a report from #Punch says.
There had been speculations that the Presidency has been backing the state lawmakers to remove Nyako, a former Chief of Navy Staff, who became the state governor in 2007.
Yesterday, a Yola high court presided by acting chief judge Justice Ambrose Mammadi dismissed an application filed by Adamawa lawmakers over its jurisdiction to entertain a case filed by Governor Murtala Nyako who earlier obtained an interlocutory injunction to quash the impeachment proceedings being pursued by the Adamawa State House of Assembly against him.
