The Federal Government on Monday expressed displeasure ``over the continued acts of senseless killing of innocent Nigerians’’ by suspected insurgents in the country.

Coordinator, National Information Centre, Mr Mike Omeri, expressed the displeasure in a reaction to the explosion which rocked Kano on Monday.

Omeri said the bomb was planted in the school compound close to the road by yet to be identified person(s).

Omeri also said that security agencies had smashed a kidnap syndicate operating in the Federal Capital Territory.

``Accordingly, members of the public, particularly young girls are advised to take precautionary measures to avert being kidnapped.’’

He added that the syndicate’s mode of operation was being investigated.

On the military operations in the north east, Omeri said troops had recovered vehicles stolen by insurgents after they attacked a police station at Malamfatori in Borno.

He said they abandoned the vehicles and fled to Niger Republic.
