The South Africa Football Association(SAFA) is set to announce a new Bafana Bafana coach to replace Gordon Igesund that his contract will not be renewed.

"The position of the Senior Men's National team needs to be ratified by the Safa NEC; therefore, the long-awaited announcement of the new Bafana Bafana coach will be made immediately after the NEC meeting next Saturday," Safa CEO Dennis Mumble said in a statement.

Iran coach, Carlos Queiroz is said to be in the pole position to replace the outgoing coach Gordon Igesund ,although reports emerged on Tuesday that Queiroz had extended his contract with the Iranian national team.

It then means that Nigeria's coach Stephen Keshi could now be the front-runner for the job with current South African under-20 and under-23 coach Shakes Mashaba, also believed to be in consideration.

That of Keshi and SAFA has been one of denial, with none of the parties agreeing that any deal has been reached.

Keshi after offering his resignation as the coach of the Super Eagles revealed that he has been offered a contract to coach South Africa, but SAFA subsequently denied that they have reached an agreement with any coach.

It is not yet certain what Keshi's position is at the moment, whether he has changed his mind to remain as Super Eagles coach after he met with President Goodluck Jonathan.
