The Lagos Deputy Gov., Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, on Wednesday urged all Nigerians to contribute to the development and growth of the country.

Orelope-Adefulire made the call while speaking with the media in Lagos, calling everyone to show more commitment as the nation turned 53.

Despite our challenges, economically and politically, we thank God we are still one nation. I want to implore everyone to continue to pray for this nation. We need prayers and commitment more than before, to move the country forward. There's no doubt that this country can be great,"

The deputy governor also urged insurgents to embrace peace, saying that killing fellow human beings would not solve any problem.

She further added.

I implore those taking the lives of innocent citizens to please have the fear of God. Whatever the situation, we can come to a round table to discuss and dialogue; killing will only add to the problem.I pray for peace in our homes, in the country and in the world as a whole,
