A passenger train in southwestern Pakistan was attacked by armed militants today, Friday 16th of August. Three people were killed and more than twelve others injured, said the Police.
The attack happened near the village of Dozan as the train was heading to the town of Sibi in Baluchistan province. A rocket was fired on the Jaffar Express before fire was opened on the train.
The dead and wounded were taken to a government hospital.
Rail service was temporarily suspended following the attack.
No-one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicion fell on separatists in Baluchistan, who have long waged a low-level insurgency against the government, are suspected for the attack.
