Metro Muslims Burn Kano Court in Protest Against Blasphemy

Angry Muslim youths burned down a court after an Islamic cleric, Abdul Inyas accused of blasphemy made an appearance.



Inyas, who is said to be the leader of the Tijjayya sect leader is said to have “made unguarded statements against prophet Muhammad last week”, during his usual preaching at Goron Dutse General area of Kano metropolis.

VANGUARD reports thousands of youths had thronged the court to witness the trial of Tijjayya sect leader who was taken into custody last Wednesday after he was rescued from mob at Makwarari quarters. Also around Mandawari area of the municipal, a huge crowd of protesters were seen heading towards Emir’s palace chanting death to anyone that denigrate the Prophet of Islam .
