There have been several threats and vitriolic vituperation from the leaders and factions of the All Progressives Congress, APC, following the results of the NASS elections which threatened to rip the party apart.

After walking out of plenary, senators loyal to Ahmad Lawan had threatened legal actions against Saraki.

Also Sen. Remi Tinubu, wife of APC leader Bola Tinubu snubbed Saraki during her swearing-in.

However President Buhari, it is believed have broker peace among the warring parties.

Reports say it took a personal communication between Mr. President and Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, before the breaks could be applied.

It was agreed that before Buhari's trip yesterday to South Africa for the Africa Union Summit, that the matter must be laid to rest.

It was this decision that informed the presence of Oyegun at Friday’s meeting after which he proclaimed that the party had accepted Saraki as senate president.
