Sports NFF should go for a foreign coach with class - Jonathan Akpoborie

Former Super Eagles player Jonathan Akpoborie has advised the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) to go for a grade "A" foreign coach to manage the national team.

Following the sack of Stephen Keshi on Thursday, the NFF hired Amodu Shuaibu on an interim basis, to tinker with the Super Eagles for the remaining qualifiers of the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament, pending the appointment of a foreign coach.

And Akpoborie has said that the NFF should just go for any coach, but bring in someone with quality to manage the team.

"NFF must bring a foreign coach with class, a top quality coach, a big name and established coach who has knowledge of African Football and who is ready to develop the game in the country,” Akpoborie said.

“And not bring a mediocre coach who can’t even clean my shoe when we were playing, has no track record in the name of foreign coach.

“We need a coach who the NFF and even the government people cannot push around.”
