Former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Inde Dikko, after hours of interrogation with the EFCC, The Nation reports.

Dikko had on Thursday turned himself in to the EFCC to answer questions concerning a N42bn fraud investigation the agency is conducting.

He arrived around 10am and was grilled for 8 hours, reports say.

“When Dikko reported at the EFCC, he was looking pale. It was obvious that his health was in bad shape," a top authority at the agency said. “We interacted with him and relocated him to a hospital for treatment. From the first day, we allowed him to stay in hospital. Our operatives are only watching over him at the hospital.

The official however said he was never detained. “We need to set the records straight. He was never at any time detained in EFCC’s custody because of his frail health. But we are monitoring him in a hospital.”
