Suspected herdsmen have killed over 20 people in Southern Kaduna, causing fear and tension.
Among those who were killed are two security officers. They were attacked at a military outpost at Godogodo village.
Kaduna State Police spokesman Aliyu Usman, vowed that the police will arrest those who carried out the attacks.
“Last Friday, same armed men ambushed our men around Godogodo, killed two officers and fled. We shall surely get them soon”he said.
Residents said the attack started last Saturday and continued well into Sunday with surrounding villages in Jama’a LGA also attacked.
A witness alleged that a substantial part of Godogodo was razed by the herdsmen. “In the inferno, many lost their lives while some who tried to escape were shot or hacked down by the Fulani herdsmen,” he said.
A 24-hour curfew has been declared in the area by Chairman of the interim management committee of the local government area, Humble Katuka.
