President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan may not contest in the 2015 presidential elections if the Supreme Court deems him ineligible to contest.
Yesterday, the court fixed December 16 to begin the hearing on the suit filed by PDP Adamawa chieftain, Dr. Umar Ardo seeking to prevent President Jonathan from seeking re-election next year.
President Jonathan's lawyer, Mr. Ade Okeaya-Inneh, SAN, has told the court that it has supplied several legal documents backing his re-election bid and has argued that Ardo has no strong case.
Ardo, meanwhile, has insisted to the court that he has enough evidence to show the President Jonathan has insufficient legal backing to remain in office beyond 2015.
