Sports Nigeria suffering from not qualifying for the 2015 Nations Cup - Onigbinde

Former Super Eagles coach Adegboye Onigbinde believes that Nigeria is feeling the brunt of not qualifying for the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament.

Nigeria failed to successfully defend the Nations Cup trophy they won two years ago in South Africa, missing out on qualification.

And Onigbinde said that the cost of non-qualification is huge as everybody has been affected by it.

“Everyone is a loser,” Onigbinde said “I say this because we have suffered the same fate on many occasions and personally, I can tell you that players, coaches, journalists, television stations and even the soccer image of the country will be in pains during and after the tournament.

“The cost of Nigeria’s absence cannot be quantified, it is huge, especially for young players whose careers hinge on their appearances at the Nations Cup,” he was quoted as saying on Vanguard.
