Ekiti state governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has insisted that the election should be postponed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) even with Court of Appeal's verdict that Mr Eyitayo Jegede be returned as the candidate of the People's Democratic Party in the November 26 governorship election in Ondo,

Reacting to the Justice Ibrahim Saulawa's judgment, Fayose also alleged that INEC and the All Progressives Congress colluded with "charlatans" in the PDP to cause confusion within the party.

Fayose, who commended judgment, however, pointed out that the time available for campaign was against his party to be able to make a headway in the poll.

Fayose said: “The judgement shouldn’t have been otherwise, because you can’t cover the truth. I have said it ab initio that charlatans in the PDP are colluding with INEC and APC to undermine our party."

He argued that INEC had no reason in the first instance to change Jegede’s name who was duly nominated at a primary attended by the INEC's officials.

“This judgement coming at this time is a major setback for our party, which I believe can only be cured if this election is postponed”, Fayose concluded.
