The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has no plans to rig the 2015 presidential and general elections as alleged by the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr Olisa Metuh, PDP National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, said on Sunday.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, Metuh described the allegation as "unfounded and mere sophistry"

"This is all excuses as the APC envisioned monumental failure in the 2015 polls. The APC is a media creation. They are not on ground; the statement is merely trying to justify its anticipated failure. The ruling PDP will no longer dignify disgruntled and frustrated persons and groups with responses and replies," he said.

Metuh said the PDP had directed all its organs to engage only in productive and pro-active activities.

"The PDP is only willing to discuss the policies and programmes of the government. Nigerians will like to know the oppositions' alternatives to the President's programmes. Let us remain focused on issues that will lead to good governance and will provide dividends of democracy for the people," he said.

NAN reports that the APC had in a statement alleged that the PDP had perfected plans to rig the 2015 presidential and general elections.

The APC also alleged that the PDP had planned to destabilise the PDP South-West chapter before 2015.
