The Jigawa Police Command on Tuesday shot dead an armed robbery suspect along Dutse/Kiyawa road, the Police Commissioner, Mr Theophilus Kayode, has said.
Kayode told newsmen in Dutse that deceased was among the three suspected robbers trailed to Dutse after they snatched a Honda saloon car with a registration No. ABC 860 MU, in Abuja.
He said officers of the command and a special team from the office of the Inspector-General of Police attached to Alhaji Ali Kwara, engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel and killed one of them.
He said that the robbers were three in the car but two escaped with gun shot wounds.
The commissioner said that items recovered from them included a pistol with four rounds of live ammunition, five ATM cards, and one identity card bearing Yusuf Suleiman.
He said original particulars of the car, a passport photograph and a bunch of keys were also found.
