Prophet Olakunle Hephzibah of the Christ Anointed Church, Peculiar International Ministry who is also known as Baba Peculiar in an interview with DAILY INDEPENDENT over the weekend said that President Jonathan is under a curse.

When asked to comment on the current spate of insecurity in the land, Baba Peculiar said, "I told my members two years ago that all these evils of being perpetrated by Boko Haram is little, compared to what will still happen to us in Nigeria. These terrorists will kidnap and destroy many more. What God showed me is that I saw different soldiers kill from different countries invading the country and it has come to pass. I also told my members last two years that I saw blood in the House of Assembly, which happened. Everything I predicted last year has come to pass.

"What I want Nigerians to know is that these are all signs of end time. God told me that PDP has wasted so many blood; the lives innocent people. And that Jonathan is under a curse. God told me that until they shift the venue of the seat of power from Aso Rock, there will be no peace in the land. The place (Villa) has claimed so many lives; in fact, many innocent people have been buried alive there. So, the blood of the innocent is crying every day. There will be no peace in Nigeria excerpt this is done.

"Nigeria will continue to boil until there is a change in the seat of power. Between now and next year February 2015, two important personnel in this country will die. Only God can save Nigeria from impending war, what I saw is war and disasters everywhere. Many people in PDP will die. I am not in support of APC either, because majority of them will also die. God said he has given PDP chance to rule and now he will give APC the chance. It is not that they are clean because they have also shed blood, but God just wants to use them for certain things.

I'm inclined to disagree. I'd think someone who rose through the ranks in a series of fortuitous events, from Deputy Governor to Governor of Bayelsa state, to Vice President and now to president of the federation would be called 'blessed.' I mean, if that's what it means to be cursed, man, being cursed doesn't look so bad.

I think, generally, if we're to use the 'curse' word liberally, it shouldn't be pinned on Jonathan, but on the country. However, I don't believe remotely that Nigeria's problem is spiritual. Our problem is evident, not some indecipherable bug of supernatural provenance.
