Mr. John-Kennedy Opara, Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) has said Nigeria and Israel would sign a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) when the President Goodluck Jonathan visits the State of Israel on pilgrimage this month.
According to DAILY TRUST, Opara said, “Asides being a spiritual exercise for Mr. President, he will also use the opportunity to finalise discussions and sign the much anticipated BASA with Israel. You will recall that we have been on this matter for quite some time now and this time around, God-willing, the agreement is likely to be signed"
“Signing an air service agreement between Nigeria and Israel will among other benefits, reduce significantly the cost of pilgrimage".
President Jonathan will be accompanied on the trip by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, some state governors and other top government officials.
