The Cable newspaper reports now that the reason five PDP governors visited former President Obasanjo's Abeokuta home was to plead with him to delay the release of his book, My Watch.
According to the paper, Jonathan got wind of the pending release of the book and sent the governors to stall it, as the timing of the book's release was considered politically damaging.
It will be recalled that after the meeting, Obasanjo told newsmen that “we discussed about security, about the economy, about things you all know. We looked at these issues very objectively and we came to the conclusion that, yes we have a bad situation but not irretrievably bad because something can still be done”.
It was after the governors failed to stop Obasajo from releasing the book until after the February 14 election that it was decided that Obasanjo's former ally, Kashamu Buruji should halt the book's release with a court injunction.
