Alhaji Shettima Yerima ,President, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum has declared that the days of prominent Ijaw leader, Edwin Clark are long gone.
Speaking during an interview session with The Sun, when asked to comment on Clark's recent remarks that the North shouldn't consider the Presidency their birthright, Yerima said, "He shouldn’t have said that at his age. With all due respect to him as an elder and father, those are the issues I have been raising till now that such people shouldn’t be allowed to be making such inflammatory statement. His days are over; they have failed their generation. I don’t think it is wise to fold our hands and allow his ilk to be making that type of statements.
"I expected the younger generation of Niger Delta to rise up and tell him that he can’t build their generation this way. You cannot build our nation this way. His days are over. If there was anything to do is to seek his advice if necessary. There is no point for you talking anyhow as if you can decide our own time.
"When he and his fellows cause crisis they go under ground to sleep then the masses will be the ones to bear the brunt of their actions.
