Secret Services in Britain have taken 'Catch them Young' to a whole new level. They are offering apprenticeships to people as young as 18 and they will be training them in espionage and cyber threats. No need for University education.
The programme offered by GCHQ, MI5 and MI6 will be for 2 years and apprentices must be British Citizens. 80 trainees will be picked and they must have three A-levels at C or above, with at least two A-levels in either a science, technology, engineering or maths subjects.
Applicants will undergo strict tests and are warned not to publicise their desire to work for any of the agencies. Part of the job description read:
‘To protect yourself and the UK's secrets,
don't take everyone at face value. Be particularly wary of anyone who shows undue interest in your future job plans; think about the security aspects of what you do.
‘For example, be mindful of how you present yourself on the internet - do not post on social networking sites that you have applied to GCHQ and think twice before you tell anyone where you may be going to work.’
They are offered £17,066 per annum in exchange for 42 hours of work each week.
