All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State chapter says it will defeat Nyesom Wike, incumbent governor, in a fresh free and fair election ordered by the Election Petition tribunal.

Wike’s victory at the governorship election in April was punctured on Saturday, when the election petition tribunal nullified the original result and ordered the conduct of a fresh election within 90 days.

Also, APC has urged Wike to refrain from appealing the decision if he is sure of his popularity, so that both sides can meet at another poll.
“Wike is aware that in a free and fair election in Rivers State, the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr Dakuku Peterside, will beat him so mercilessly that he will lose his deposit,” Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, spokesman of the Rivers APC chairman, said in a statement on Monday.
