Nigeria's Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has predicted on Saturday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will return to power in 2019, Daily Independent reports.
Speaking at his Enugu residence where he hosted hundreds of his supporters who received him at Akanu Ibiam Airport, Enugu yesterday, Ekweremadu said "we are ready to work with APC and Buhari if they want to work. But if they are interested in fighting the National Assembly, we will help them.”
“If they want to work for the poor, we will help them. We will help them to reduce corruption and improve security to ensure a better Nigeria. But, so long as they want to chase shadows, we will help them. For us in PDP, we have four years to come back to power because we are involved” Ekweremadu said.
He described Senate President, Bukola Saraki, as a gentleman who believes in Nigeria, cosmopolitan and believes that every part of Nigeria must have a sense of belonging.
He also maintained that Ndigbo have no apologies for voting for PDP in 2015, stressing that if another opportunity beckons, they would still vote the same way.
