Twenty two days to the World Cup and the tournament shivers has been spreading across all who eagerly look forward to it.

Players have been speaking with enthusiasm about their readiness and expectations for the tournament.

But organisers have a lot to grapple with in terms of logistics as protests look like there are no signs it would abate soon.


Messi:
When he talks,people will listen,because he does not do so often. The Argentine talisman has said that he is ready for the 2014 #WorldCup tournament.

The #Barcelona player revealed that he is now completely detached from his club's abysmal season and is now fully focused on doing well with the national team

"As I join up with the national team, the atmosphere is completly different," he said. "Many times in the past when I have gone back to Barcelona, I have played well. Now I am hoping that the opposite happens," Messi was quoted as saying FIFA.com

#Messi acknowledges that this is a World Cup for him to make an impact,more importantly to be truly considered as one of football's greats.

Franck Ribery
31-year old French player Franck #Ribery has revealed that the present World Cup tournament in Brazil will be his last for ''Les Blues''

Ribery made his first World Cup appearance at the 2006 tournament in #Brazil and also appearing at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

Come the next World Cup in #Russia,he will be 35 and might no longer be in contention for a place in the French team.

"It will be my last World Cup," he told radio station RTL. "We have to go there to achieve something, to try to win the World Cup, quite simply."

The Bayern Munich will possibly be eyeing a place at the next Euro championship in 2016,which France will be hosting before he announces his retirement.



Injury concerns for Germany:
Joachim Low has been faced with uncertainties over the fitness levels of some his players as the World Cup approaches.

There are concerns over the fitness of three Bayern Munich players in the team: Philipp Lahm (bruised ankle), vice-captain Bastian Schweinsteiger (inflamed knee ligament) who is even yet to train and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (shoulder)

Also Sami #Khedira and Lazio striker Miroslav #Klose who might not have gained sufficient match fitness.

"With regard to the World Cup participation of Manuel and Philipp, we are optimistic but both will be treated intensively," said Low. "It is good and also important that they will be with us from the start in the Tirol, even if they won't initially be able to train."



Unions going on strikes:
It is becoming synonymous with Brazil hosting the World Cup,day after day the people continues with protests over their grievances with the government.

About 32,000 civil police in #SaoPaulo went on a one-day strike,protesting that they want better working conditions.

In addition to the striking police,bus drivers are equally on a strike which caused so much chaos for commuters who wanted to get home.
