The Igbo Delegates Assembly (IDA), an Umbrella body of Ndigbo in the 19 Northern states of the country have called on Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari because ''if Mr. President fails, Nigeria has failed''.
The group stated this in a statement jointly signed by its president general, Chief Chi Nwogu and secretary general, Auston Ifedinezi after its general meeting in Makurdi, Benue State; LEADERSHIP reports.
''We call on all Nigerians and the world at large to see the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari as the will of God Almighty and give him maximum support, through prayers, constructive advice, trust, good conduct etc. Knowing that if Mr. President fails, Nigeria has failed and if he succeeds, Nigeria has succeeded.
''We are unanimous in our resolve to support President Buhari’s zero tolerance for corruption. We are solidly behind him in his avowed determination to recover the stolen money belonging to Nigeria and the attendant punishment, no matter who is involved. We suggest that the investigation/ probe start from 1999 to date.”
